The amount of road users travelling by bicycle is growing due to the rising prices of fuel. Ensuring that safety is the main priority, the modular edge islands help to separate both sets of road users and reduce the risk of accidents between the two groups.
Designed with reflective bands, the island can be seen during the night as well as in the day, making it as clear as possible for all. 80% of accidents involving cyclists happen during daylight, the most common is when motorists enter the cycle lane. So when adding the cycle lane separator, it stops any vehicles entering the cyclist lane and potentially harming the cyclists.
The base has holes to fit bollards into, this helps to improve the separation between the two and makes it as clear as possible for road users. The bollards also have added reflective bands, improving visibility throughout the day and night. Each section is one metre, so depending on user requirements, the modular edge can be made to suit the requirements of each location.
