Supplying the public sector is something we pride ourselves on and Northumberland County Council (NCC) have recently picked up on our work in this area. We have been named as a supplier on their website for the litter campaign they are currently running.
The “LOVE Northumberland- Caring for our County” Campaign has been running since 2011 to help promote recycling and waste disposable across the county. They aim to increase their awareness of this campaign through a number of challenges and competitions to see which schools, groups and individuals can gain the most points for their recycling and waste reduction activities. Their efforts are rewarded with their yearly LOVE Northumberland awards that are given out for a number of projects from “Young People’s Projects” to “Urban Projects” and more.
The 2014 winner for 'Schools Recycling Green Point Challenge' was Josephine Butler Primary. They participated in a number of activities including litter pickings, learning recipes for leftover food and raising awareness for a greener county from creating their own posters.
NCC provide support for school efforts; they can give advice on possible areas where litter picks can take place and the areas that can be looked after on a long term basis. They can offer equipment for the litter picking, collection of the rubbish and even coming along to the scheduled litter picking days. A LOVE Northumberland pledge certificate is something they also send to schools for participation in the campaign.
We encourage these types of campaigns and have a range of products available for schools, colleges and universities. We also offer an instant 30 day credit account facility for public sector organisations, making it easy for schools to place an order.
